Hello all,

Please find below a resolution to be voted on at the next board meeting:

Whereas

1. The Debian mark is an important piece of intellectual property;
2. The Debian project wishes to protect the mark;
3. The DPL has authorised expenditure for registering the
Debian mark throughout the EU;

The SPI board resolves that

1. Neil McGovern may proceed with registering the mark
'Debian' though a trademark solicitor with the CTM system.

Thanks,

I'm happy to see this step. Please s/CTM/Community Trade Mark/

Is there any intention or authorisation to try a Madrid System
registration?

Done.

Not as present. It's significantly more expensive, and the firm I'm in
communication with suggested just going for a CTM to start with. Should
the CTM application go through ok, we could look at extending this using
Madrid.
